Patriot – Tuesday 140909

Let’s talk competition. Yesterday we touched on the new CrossFit professional sports teams. Today I want to talk about competing at the local level. As some of you know, we’ve got a competition team at Patriot CrossFit. Our goal is to train to perform well at the CrossFit Games Open, but also to compete in smaller regional competitions throughout the year.

I know many of you are intimidated by the idea of competing, or just wonder why you’d ever want to spend your weekend working out multiple times in one day…for “fun.” However, I encourage you to think about giving a local competition a shot – it is a great experience to challenge yourself to train for something different and to see where you stack up against athletes outside our box.

We’ll post info on upcoming competitions for anyone interested…please reach out to Erika if you’re thinking about giving one a try or want to discuss the competition team.
